  • Has been teaching at Harding since 1995.
  • Serves as an elder in a local congregation in Searcy.
  • Directs the annual religious education seminar at Harding.

  • Taught at the university level for 16 years.

Ross Cochran

Ross Cochran
Degrees earned: Ph.D. Boston College

  • Has been at Harding since 1986.
  • Spent 6 years in ministry and has preached extensively in local congregations in Searcy.
  • Serves as the director of Camp Tahkodah in Floral, Arkansas.

Monte Cox
Degrees earned: B.A. Bible, Harding University; M.A. Missiology and Church Growth, Harding Graduate School of Religion; Ph.D. Intercultural Studies, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
  • Now serves as Associate Dean of the College of Bible and Religion and as an elder in a local congregation.
  • Ministry: Chicago, IL and Clinton, AR.
  • Missions: Western Kenya.

Scot Crenshaw

  • Has taught at Harding since 1997.
  • 18 years in full-time ministry.
  • His area of expertise is homiletics and church growth.

Degrees earned: M.A. Adult Instruction and Performance Technology University of Michigan; BSC Radio & TV Communication, Ohio University; Certificate Center for Christian Education, Dallas, TX; A.A.S. Commercial Art Dutchess Community College.

  • Preached for churches in New York and Michigan.
  • Ministry to the Chicago-area.
  • Administers the Interactive Media program in the Harding Communication Department.
  • Wife:Julie; Children: Elizabeth, Joshua and Samuel.
Danny Mathews

Danny Mathews
Degrees earned
: B.A. Harding University; M.Div. Abilene Christian University; Th.M (Old Testament) Princeton Theological Seminary; Ph.D. candidate, Union-PSCE

  • Church experience includes a seminar presentation "Preaching Exodus," class teacher for numerous congregations, and missionary campaigns to Hungary and Russia.
  • Served as managing editor for the theological journal Interpretation, Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek translation consultant for the World Bible Translation Center, and gave several conference presentations at annual meetings of the Society of Biblical Literature
  • Family includes wife, Wendi, and three boys: Taylor, Bailey, and Avery.    
  • Enjoys all things Star Wars, travelling, reading, dissecting individual episodes of Lost, and playing with our cats Ivory and Honda. 

Bill Richardson
Degrees earned: B.B.A. University of New Mexico; M.A. Abilene Christian University; D.Min. Abilene Christian University
  • Youth, educational, and pulpit ministry for 30 years in NM, TX, AR.
  • Missions: Guatemala, Argentina and Chile.
  • Wife Holly is a school teacher; daughters Lindsay and Amber are students at Harding University.
  • Enjoys travelling and doing campaign work with the family.
  • Likes fishing, golf and woodworking.

Daniel Stockstill
Degrees earned: B.A. Biblical Languages and Bible, Harding College; M.Th. Harding Graduate School of Religion; Ph.D. Practical Theology: Youth and Family Ministry, The Union Institute.
  • Has 28 years of total ministry experience, including international missions to Italy and Chile.
  • Has taught at Harding since 1990, specializing in youth and family education.
  • Currently serves as assistant dean of the College of Bible and Religion and as an elder in a local congregation.
  • Enjoys his family and theater.
Phil Thompson Phil Thompson

Degrees earned: B.S. (Bible), Harding University; M.A.R. (Theology); M.Th. (concentrations in Biblical Languages and Theology); D.Min. (Homiletics), Harding Graduate School of Religion.

  • Youth, preaching minister, and volunteer police chaplain for 28 years in VA, TN, AR.
  • Wife: Liz, a Speech Pathologist; Children: Shannon (married and living in D.C. area), Jessie (married and teaching English in South Korea), and Jon (student at Harding)
  • Short term mission trips to India, Bangladesh, Russia, Kazachstan, Czech Republic, Germany, Anguilla, Mexico
  • Hobbies include anything outdoors, especially deer hunting, fishing, and camping; watching car racing (Indy Car and Nascar); Baseball; Razorbacks


Duane Warden
Degrees earned: B.A. Harding University; M.R.E. Harding Graduate School of Religion; Ph.D. Duke University

  • Full-time ministry for 8 years in Hardy, AR, Portsmouth, VA, and Fairmont, WV.
  • Worked part time with several churches and preached nearly every Sunday for 42 years.
  • At Harding since 1993.
  • Served as Associate Dean of the College of Bible and Religion from 1996-2005.
  • Enjoys reading history (particularly ancient history), and golfing.

Randy Willingham
Degrees earned: B.A. in Bible and Religion, HSBS Harding University, Physical Education Minor; M.Div. Harding Graduate School of Religion; D.Min. Abilene Christian University
  • Ministry experience in TN, AR, OK.
  • Pulpit and leadership ministry.
  • Church and Church Leader Consultant.
  • Development of leadership systems.
  • Loves his family, fishing, hand to hand sports/martial arts, and politics.
